Responsibilities The Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies (HGSAS) invites applications for two full-time positions of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Remote working arrangements will be considered by the search committee. The Graduate School is a fully accredited institution of higher learning, offering the Master of Arts degree, specialized training for professional development, and continuing education. Currently serving over 150 students per term, the school's curricula integrate theory, science and practice to prepare addictions counselors who are well-equipped to address the complexities of substance use disorders. Successful candidates will teach core courses, provides clinical supervision, and is the liaison between clinical staff and students. As core teaching faculty members, these positions will be responsible for educating future leaders in addiction counseling to improve treatment and recovery from alcohol and drug use disorders. These positions may have responsibilities in residential and/or online programs. These positions innovate and continuously improve key education processes based on educational research, internal assessment data, and academic expertise, so that course offerings, teaching strategies and curriculum development demonstrate improved achievement of learning outcomes. Qualifications:
Doctorate in Counselor Education or have a related doctoral degree and been employed in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013 Minimum of one year experience substance abuse prevention and treatment or related field Teaching, lecturing, training, and/or education experience Competency in PC applications Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Excellent written and verbal communications skills Preferred
Qualifications:
Graduate of a CACREP-accredited program Current professional counselor or addiction counselor license Knowledge of current educational technology tools Experience designing and teaching online graduate courses (for remote applicants) Experience utilizing backwards course design (for remote applicants)
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
TeachingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
