As an Accounting Analyst you will:
Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and internal/external reports
Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Analyze and prepare financial statements to ensure timeliness and accuracy
Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end and year-end close
Be the expert of Oracle General Ledger and Oracle Projects modules, including participating in the processes for month end and fiscal year end.
Participate in, and coordinate the preparation of the external audit work papers.
Initiate and support the continual improvement of systems and processes
4-5 years directly related experience
Knowledge of GAAP, accounting process data flow, general ledger processes/functions, IRS requirements
Analytical skills to include: Financial statement analysis, monitoring, and measuring.
Computer Skills to include: Accomplished in the use of spreadsheet software, including tables and graphs; Working knowledge of word processing and e-mail software; Proficient in the use of financial software systems, processes and data flow.
Communication and teamwork skills to include: Effective verbal and written communications with various levels of staff; Ability to understand and work with ambiguity; Ability to understand and work with conflicting perspectives.
Project management skills to include: Ability to direct and facilitate project initiatives to completion in a timely manner on budget; Demonstration of efficiency and organization in personal work habits.
Additional education, training, licensure, experience, etc.
Oracle financial end-user experience
Healthcare experience
Not-for-profit accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
